When you think of a car junkyard, you might think of piles and piles of old, wrecked cars sitting and collecting dust or waiting to be compacted. While this is accurate, this isn’t all that junkyards are good for. In fact, you could even say that the junkyard is environmentally friendly in comparison to taking junk cars to the landfill instead. Here are a few ways that a car junkyard is good for the environment.
- Minimize cars and car parts in the landfill: Cars and car parts will not decompose over time the way that some things can. When taken to the landfill, the cars will only lay wasted and rusting in the landfill. Taking your car to the car junkyard instead is a much better alternative.
- Recycled parts: Even if your car isn’t in working condition, there is a good possibility that you have parts within the car that are fully functional still. When we take your car to the car junkyard, we can first strip the car for useable parts and recycle them, so they can be used again by other cars.
- Giving others a chance at useable parts: Especially if the car you have for the car junkyard is old enough that the parts are no longer in circulation, you could be allowing for the availability of these rare parts for other car owners. That way, they can get the necessary parts more easily than searching and buying them elsewhere.
